Undergraduate Degree: B.S. in Financial Management

Undergraduate Institution: Clemson University

What is your professional background?
After graduating from Clemson University with a B.S. in Financial Management and concentration in real estate, I began my career in real estate with Boston Capital. Over four years I held roles in asset management and acquisitions, focusing on affordable housing investments. For the last three years, I've been an asset manager in multifamily for Crescent Communities in Charlotte, overseeing Class-A lease-ups across the southeast. I recently accepted a position with Terwilliger Pappas in asset management and look forward to overseeing their lease-ups across the southeast.

Why did you choose to pursue the M.S. in Real Estate degree at UNC Charlotte?
I have a background in asset management so I have primarily worked on real estate projects after construction has completed. The MSRE program at UNC Charlotte offers development, construction, and site planning courses that will help me to round out my skill set and be a more useful resource to my company.

What have been some of the highlights of your program experience so far?
A couple of highlights for me thus far have been the international real estate study trip to Berlin and Barcelona, and the monthly CKCRE lunch Seminar Series. Both of these events have broadened my perspective and knowledge of our industry across real estate types and countries.

How has the MSRE program helped you advance your career?
I'm only one year through the program, but it's already helped me advance my career thanks to the program's extensive network and classes that have challenged me to learn skills that are applicable to my career.

What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to continue working in multifamily asset management upon graduation.
