What is your professional background?
I'm currently responsible for all transaction and portfolio management related analysis and reporting for a Lincoln Harris real estate portfolio consisting of 6.3MM SF of general and medical office space. I'm also accountable for financial and operational analytics used to drive leasing, acquisition, disposition and capital allocation decisions for the client portfolio. Prior to joining Lincoln Harris, I worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Belk, Inc., where I led the development of sales planning and real estate capital planning analysis & reporting.
Why did you choose to pursue the M.S. in Real Estate degree at UNC Charlotte?
To primarily sharpen my cognitive skills and deepen my knowledge of the commercial real estate industry. Also, I decided to pursue the degree in an effort to gain career advancement opportunities and insights on how to one day become a successful industry entrepreneur.
What have been some of the highlights of your program experience so far?
The insightful and fun-filled study abroad trip to Berlin, Germany and Barcelona, Spain was definitely a program highlight. The overwhelming opportunities to network with prominent and successful industry professionals. Consistent utilizing of prominent industry leaders for enlightening and memorable course lectures.
How has the MSRE program helped you advance your career?
The program's mentorship opportunity helped to facilitate my smooth career transition from corporate finance to commercial real estate and continues to increase my professional marketability.
What are your plans after graduation?
Within 3-5 years of graduating from the program, I will become a proprietor or partner of a multinational commercial realty, uniquely focused on providing innovative analytics, marketing, and brokerage services.
